Katahdin belongs to us
With 40 years of experience as a small business owner and a lifelong resident of the Katahdin region, I realized I can do so much more for my community as an elected leader. That's why I am running for the Maine state house. We need someone who will focus on the issues that really matter to us. During my campaign, I hope to come out and listen to as many people as I can, so that together, we can help to make Katahdin more affordable and prosperous than ever before.
I believe that the income guidelines for housing assistance are outdated. I want to fix that so we can get everyone who truly needs housing assistance the help they deserve.
You shouldn't have to go broke every time you get sick. I want to expand Mainecare and medicare for those who need help, and stop DHHS from taking your assets when you or your loved ones die.
We're already seeing the effects of climate change. Katahdin needs someone who can bring initiatives like solar and wind power to the region, and work to mitigate the wicked problems resulting from pollution.
Our heating bills are too high. I plan to work to subsidize our heat through policy, and make it easier for us to live through our brutal winters.
Tourism through Baxter and Katahdin woods and waters is our lifeblood. With your help, I want to expand our tourism industry, while supporting us locals of the Katahdin region and making sure that while helping it to grow, we don't lose who we are in the process.
We need better and faster internet! I'll work to get us there and bring us to the forefront of technological innovation.
